Antimicrobial Dressing - BIOPATCH
|It is suggested by NICE that 300,000 patients per year acquire Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) of which 18% (or 54,000) are attributed to CRBSI’s.|
This is an Antimicrobial Dressing with Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) which is intended for use as a hydrophilic wound dressing used to absorb, exudate and to cover a wound caused by the use of vascular and non-vascular percutaneous medical devices. The device acts by releasing its antimicrobial and antifungal constituent, CHG, gradually from the hydrophilic foam matrix and is proven to reduce the risk of catheter related bloodstream infections (CRBSI) by 76%.
